In a continuing effort to increase its workload from ridiculous to beyond possible, the Framingham Town Meeting has adopted a Planning Board recommendation that Site Plan Review is required in Manufacturing Districts for projects of 8,000 square feet or greater. While this is consistent now with other districts, it further erodes Building Inspector discretion in favor of full-board review. While not a bad idea in theory, the Planning Board cannot possibly continue to take over the role of the building inspector and still expect to get the job done right and done timely.
